10 weeks and counting...

So, I've hit the 30 week mark! I can't believe we're only 10 weeks away from being parents! Everything is still going well. No swelling...haven't gained a lot of weight.....haven't really been moody or irritable....no complications....everything's been normal. Ayden is a little mover these days, but he's not a kicker/puncher...he just wiggles around most of the time. I've tried to capture him moving on video, but he's camera shy. It's like he knows when the camera is pointed to my belly because he'll all of a sudden just stop moving. Silly boy....

We have a 4D ultrasound next week, and I'm starting to get really excited! My mom was the one who wanted us to do it because she really wanted to be at the first one, but he wouldn't let her come. So, now....it's her turn. Since it was her idea, she offered to pay, which is very generous of her. There's no way we could have afforded that. Our parents have done way too much already...and we're so very grateful for them.

I'm trying to get some pictures up here, but it's not happening at the moment......hopefully I'll get them to work later.

Thank God for "normal"

Throughout this journey of ours called pregnancy, I've always been prepared to hear the worst. I don't know why, but I've always been like that. I guess I always like to be prepared....just in case. Luckily, we haven't had to be prepared for bad news. Towards the beginning, when everything is so up-in-the-air and you're playing a waiting game, it's easy to expect to hear the worst. Now, though, I am completely content in pregnancy and am loving every second of it!! I love feeling Ayden move - especially now that he's kicking a lot more frequently and strongly.

I'm assuming my glucose test was normal. I had the test last Thursday and still haven't heard anything. No news is good news in this case! During my last appointment, I was measuring exactly to the day - 27 weeks and 1 day. Ayden's heartbeat was sitting steady around 150. He did NOT enjoy the midwife poking and prodding to find his heartbeat (it was during his usual naptime). First, she was pushing him around trying to feel him - and she could. His head was down (woo! he at least knows what position to get into when it's time!). Then, she went to find his heartbeat, and he decided he'd be stubborn. Lucikly, though, Mom always knows where his heartbeat is and I was right! :) Anyway, he didn't like her poking around, so he gave her/me a very strong, swift kick- one of the strongest I had seen up until that point. Silly boy....he doesn't like to be disturbed.

At my last appointment, my total weight gain came to approximately 12 pounds. Not too bad for 6.5 months along. Everyone at work has been very complimentary, which makes me feel better on days when I'm not feeling so attractive. I know....I have 12 weeks to go....I'm only going to get bigger. I'm enjoying pregnancy, but I am ready to be back to my prepregnancy size and clothes. I've tried to be careful about what I eat (tried being the key word...) because I don't want to have to try to lose more weight than expected!

My last day of work is sent for May 1st, and I sure hope he holds out until then! I found out that if he's born on April 31...I still have to pay his insurance for the WHOLE MONTH of April. And when I found out how much he will cost me monthly....I decided he and I would have a strong discussion later that night about why he needs to obey his mother and stay in there until at least May 1st!! :P It does feel good to have all of that paperwork taken care of though. Now...just have to have Ayden and enjoy being a mom. :)

We're getting so excited and can't wait to see our little man in person! We have quite a few showers coming up, and I'm so looking forward to baby stuff. I'm ready to have his nursery complete!!

Next appointment is at 30 weeks.......until then - take care!
