I love my students...

One of my students sent me this photo last night:

Her name is Whitney, and she is truly one of the sweetest girls. Whitney is the mastermind behind, "Ribbons for Ayden" and she helped organize the candle light vigil on October 15th in honor of Ayden and all of the babies who have been lost to SIDS, infant death, or pregnancy loss.

Today, my students are preparing butterflies for a christmas tree. The butterflies were sold in honor of Ayden for SIDS awareness. The money they raised went to support First Candle. I believe the christmas tree will be in the Greenville Convention Center. That was the orginal plan. Wherever it is, I hope to be able to get some pictures to share with you all.

I am blessed to teach such a wonderful group of kids. I am so, so proud of them.

  1. Your students sound tremendous and your sweet son is making his mark on this world.

  2. If you did a small remembrance Christmas tree for Ayden, you could use the pictures in his name gallery to decorate some ornaments. It would be a beautiful tribute. Praying for you every day!

  3. So happy for you that you are so blessed by your students.

Praying extra hard for you this week.

  4. It is great how your sweet son will postively affect the lives of these kids. Good for you sharing this with them, to help them appreciate what they have.

  5. this post really touched my heart. how beautiful that Ayden has inspired good works from your student.

  6. I'm thinking of you and praying for you this week. I can only imagine how difficult facing this holiday season will be without Ayden. May the Lord comfort your heart and keep you in His peace.

  7. What a sweet girl, I was not that mature in school!

    love you - Kelley
